8th Grade College Campus Visits

Based on an interest inventory, students were matched with colleges that had programs that had a program in which they are interested. This year 8th grade students had the opportunity to visit the following campuses: Colorado State University - Pueblo, Trinidad State Junior College, University of Colorado - Colorado Springs, Colorado School of Mines, and Metropolitan State University in Denver. Students were given a tour of the campus, and were able to hear about college life. This gives them the information needed to start planning in high school for college. It helps students to recognize that grades, extracurricular activities, volunteer work can contribute to the admissions process for the college of their choice.
